Meredith Reveals First Issue of Parents Latina Magazine
Last week Meredith Corporation unveiled the first issue of Parents Latina, an English-language magazine serving one of the fastest growing demographics in the market, Hispanic millennial mothers. The new magazine launches with a rate base of 700,000 and incorporates content from two Meredith titles, Parents and Ser Padres, covering topics such as children's health and nutrition, beauty, and lifestyle.
Meredith announced plans for the launch of Parents Latina last year after significant market research revealed a gap in the market. Though Meredith serves Spanish-language readers through such titles as Siempre Mujer and Ser Padres, they found that predominantly English-speaking Hispanic women were being overlooked.
"Research shows that U.S. Hispanics are consuming more media content in English, reflecting growing acculturation. Yet in our pre-launch research, 80 percent of potential readers felt there wasn't a magazine that currently spoke to the English-dominant Latina mom, and 90 percent found the concept of Parents Latina very appealing," said Dana Points, content director of Meredith Parents Network in a press release.
The premier issue hit newsstands on April 1, 2015.
