More Publishers Embracing Electronic Editions, Says BPA
BPA Worldwide released a report yesterday suggesting that print publishers continue to embrace digital editions, with the number of its members reporting digital editions rising by 18.2 percent to 333 in June 2009, compared to 286 a year earlier. On average, electronic editions made up 15.4 percent of BPA members' total circulation.
"From a publisher's perspective, [electronic editions] offer potential for realizing distribution and circulation marketing cost efficiencies," said Glenn Hansen, BPA's president and CEO. "On the international circulation front, they make it possible to overcome the traditional delivery and challenges of timeliness, which makes them attractive to international business readers."
Oracle Magazine continues to lead all BPA members in number of digital subscribers with 176,600.
