Next One Interactive and Magazine Publisher Bonnier Strike Deal on New TV Programming
(Press Release) FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, November 11, 2010—R&R TV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Next One Interactive, and international publisher Bonnier Corp., have announced a major agreement that will bring new original programming centered on travel and vacation activities to the network. The original content will come from Bonnier's award-winning magazines, including Caribbean Travel + Life and Florida Travel + Life.
The programming is the first phase of a strategic relationship cross-pollinating travel lifestyle activities and rewards, using both companies' media platforms and advertising space.
Additionally, Bonnier will place its video showcases, featuring travel lifestyle, on the "R&R Travel Video on Demand" cable vehicles. In turn, R&R TV will promote the full-time network and its video-on-demand platform as well as its membership program using the advertising space on Bonnier's Caribbean Travel + Life and Florida Travel + Life magazine websites.
The new original programming is set to air on R&R TV in the next 30 days, and the R&R TV banner advertising is to be placed on Bonnier Web properties over the next few weeks.
The R&R Advantage program—a discount- and reward-based travel and lifestyle membership—is a program that both parties see value in promoting through the various Web and print properties owned by Bonnier Corp. Bonnier will also use the R&R Advantage program as one of its loyalty products for magazine subscribers who renew their subscriptions.
This first step in the strategic relationship represents benefits to both parties, as Derek Reisfield, acting president of R&R TV, states: "R&R TV programming and Bonnier's publications clearly complement each other and represent potential expanded opportunities for both its current and future sponsors." Michael Starobin, vice-president of media development for Bonnier Corp., says, "It will be an advantage to us to create a 'home' where our programs can be seen on a regular basis, and to promote the airing of these on R&R TV in our print and Web platforms."
