I enjoyed your editorial, “Not All Pubs Face a Bleak Future,” in the August issue. I agree that there’s far too much hand-wringing and naysaying regarding the print medium. Too often, advertising is viewed as a zero-sum game (gains in online revenue must be offset by losses in print revenue). We would all be better off viewing online advertising as a complement to print, rather than a replacement.

I really appreciated your editorial, “Not All Pubs Face a Bleak Future,” in August. We publish in the high-tech media space, and nowhere is there such a rush to abandon print and try to fashion “lead-generating vehicles.”
I truly believe our print properties will prevail (in terms of co-existing at least), and the market share we have taken from panicked competitors will translate itself into success down the road.
