Press Release: PGW Announces Distribution for Patagonia Books + Seven More Clients
PGW ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION FOR PATAGONIA BOOKS + SEVEN MORE CLIENTS
Berkeley, CA - Beginning in October, 2013 PGW begins print and digital distribution for Patagonia Books, the publishing division of the outdoor clothing and gear company Patagonia. Patagonia Books publishes titles on wilderness, wildlife, and outdoor sports that restore connection to the natural world and raise awareness about environmental challenges and solutions. Patagonia Books' list includes titles by company founder Yvonne Chouinard. The company has titles scheduled through Spring 2015, and plans to publish five or more titles each year beginning in 2014.
"The synergy between Patagonia Books and PGW promises a very fruitful partnership," says Karla Olson, Director of Patagonia Books. "PGW's strong representation throughout the book trade as well as in gift and specialty markets will mean deep and wide penetration of Patagonia Books' titles into the marketplace. We are excited to join PGW's roster and be sold alongside their list of other successful independent publishers."
PGW has also added Los Angeles Review of Books to its client list, beginning with the inaugural issue of the LARB Quarterly Journal, which will be in bookstores in mid-October 2013. The Los Angeles Review of Books is a nonprofit, multimedia literary and cultural arts magazine. Beginning in 2014 Los Angeles Review of Books will also publish original standalone works by established authors, as well as digital-only essay and fiction collections.
Also joining PGW is Cool Tools Lab, from publisher Kevin Kelly, Senior Maverick, cofounder, and former executive editor of Wired, for distribution of Cool Tools, an illustrated catalog of the best tools as reviewed by real users on the Cool Tools website. Cool Tools, a modern expansion of the Whole Earth Catalog, will be available in time for holiday sales.
PGW is now distributing Three Rooms Press. Three Rooms Press is a leading independent publisher of cutting edge, real-life poetry, fiction, drama and art, including On and Off Bass, a recent publication by legendary Minutemen and Stooges bass player Mike Watt.
