Truck Trend Launches New Mobile App Developed by In-House Agency
(Press Release) El Segundo, Calif., October 12, 2011—Motor Trend's Truck Trend, the authority on trucks and sport utility vehicles, announced today the availability of its first mobile application for the Android and iPhone operating systems.
Developed by Source Interlink Media's (SIM) in-house agency MediaWorks, the Truck Trend app is free and available to download from the iTunes Store and Android marketplace. The app delivers up-to-date vehicle reviews, photos, videos and more, geared specifically toward the truck and SUV enthusiast -- all optimized for a mobile reading experience.
In addition to delivering the latest truck and SUV news straight to your smartphone, the MediaWorks team also designed the Truck Trend app to have a dual use as both a reference and entertainment tool. The app offers unique features including a live Twitter feed tied to the brand's @TruckTrendcom handle and weather forecasts linked to Weather.com with a dynamic interface that changes to reflect temperature and time of day.
"We've worked hard to develop some really neat features into the Truck Trend app, and we'll continue to refine it based on feedback we receive from users," said Truck Trend Executive Editor, Allyson Harwood. Today's announcement marks the latest addition to SIM's mobile line-up. The company now boasts 15 mobile applications for iPhone and Android as well as dynamic, iPad-optimized editions of both Motor Trend and AUTOMOBILE Magazine. In addition to producing applications for its own brands, MediaWorks has also developed and deployed a number of other media strategies for its third-party clients, including the development of mobile sites, in-app gaming and applications for a variety of platforms including smartphones, tablets, connected TV, Facebook and Twitter.
