Lou Ann Sabatier Named CEO of Clarity Media
Congratulations to Lou Ann Sabatier, an old friend and industry colleague, a fellow member of Exceptional Women in Publishing and a fellow blogger here on Publishing Executive.
Since I’ve known her, Lou has been a brilliant and effective consultant and communicator. She took the time to learn, master and teach all the disciplines of publishing. She generously shared what she learned and knew. She surrounded herself with the best and most creative minds in publishing.
It’s a model for how to excel in any field, and it seems like a great match for Clarity. The media company is looking to shift the business model of The Washington Examiner from daily newspaper and website to digital platform and weekly print magazine. To succeed they’ll need someone with knowledge, experience and passion for both print and digital. On top of that, they will need someone with a feel for their content area and an understanding of the political landscape.
Lou was an early and vocal advocate of platform agnosticism. She provided leadership for her clients as they navigated the transition from print-only to print and web or web-only; and for many years she has been a vehement proponent of an integrated approach to publishing, creating content that is accessible in various formats across all platforms.
I will watch with interest what she does and where the company goes, and look to see great things from Lou.
